sir,
COPY OF LETTER SENT TO THE HON. DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC
WORKS, HON KONG, DATED 17TH MAY, 1929.
27
RAY REFLECTIVE SIGNS.
We have the honour to acknowledge receipt
of your letter of the 14 th May, and regret very much
indeed that you cannot agree to our arrangement with
•
Mes ars. The Hongkong Tramways Ltd. In our letter of the
lat inst. we did not state clearly that we only intended
making use of the tram standards in the outlying districts,
namely, West Point, Kennedy Town, Causeqay Bay and Shaukiwan,
and it was not our intention to utilise the standards in
the tow area. The Tramway Company are quite willing to
grant us the use of their standards as sites, and as the
Ray Signs are very attractive in appearance, and will not
in any way disfigure the landscape, apart from being a
support to British Industries, we beg to approach you
again with a view to ascertaining if you can reconsider the
view expressed, and stretch this matter a point, and per-
mit us to use the tram standards in the outlying districts,
as mentioned above.
In reference to our letter of the 22md
April, we shall be very pleased to have your views,
gsteening an early reply,
For,
We have the honour to be,
3ir.
Your obedient servants,
DAVIE, BOAG & CO.,LTD.,
